Techniques like EFT use the tapping of our energy pathways as a way to rid ourselves of limiting beliefs or emotions. Here you will see EFT master Carol Look use tapping with Law of Attraction Insider's Eric Johnson, to address a common problem people face when they begin to accept abundance in their lives. This challenge is a fear of success and what will happen if success is achieved.
Before you begin your tapping exercise you need to calculate your vibration around whatever issue you are addressing. You begin by saying the statement aloud or by writing it down. "I'm afraid of being successful." Next, you rate how this feels on a scale of one to ten where zero means you are fine with the issue and ten represents a significant problem for you.
Once you know where that feeling ranks on your own internal scale you can begin doing the meridian tapping. Start with the karate chop point on the side of your non dominant hand (where your hand would hit a board if you were trying to break it karate-style). Tap with the fingers of your dominant hand as you proceed with the verbal exercises:
CAROL: Say the problem with an affirmation. "Even though I'm afraid of being successful..."
ERIC: "Even though I'm afraid of being successful..."
CAROL: "...I deeply and profoundly accept myself anyway."
ERIC: "...I totally and completely accept myself anyway."
CAROL: "Even though I have these reasons to be afraid to shine..."
ERIC: "Even though I have all these reasons to be afraid to stand out and be successful..."
CAROL: "...and I know what my reasons are..."
ERIC: "...and I know what my reasons are..."
CAROL: "...I love myself anyway."
ERIC: "...I accept how I am anyway."
CAROL: "Even though I have these fears about standing out and shining..."
ERIC: "Even though I have these fears about standing out and being successful..."
CAROL: "...that's okay."
ERIC: "...that's just fine."
CAROL: "I accept myself anyway."
ERIC: "I accept myself anyway."
Now, you'll take your first and second fingers of your dominant hand and begin tapping on various stress release points in the face and the body. Continue to name the problem you're facing as you do this and the tapping will actually access this negative energy and break it up. Start at your eyebrow point, the point just above your nose at the inner edge of your eyebrows. Tap there and say, "I do have these fears about standing out and being successful."
ERIC: "I do have these fears about standing out and being successful."
Then move to the point at the outside corner of your eye socket where the bones make a little "v" before your temple and your hairline. Say, "I'm afraid to stand out and be successful."
ERIC: "I'm afraid to be successful."
Tap on the little bone right under your eye, where your eye socket and cheekbone meet, and say, "I'm afraid to stand out and be successful."
ERIC: "I'm afraid to stand out and be successful."
Tap next under your nose on your upper lip which is a very important meridian point. Say "That's why I've been setting myself up for failure."
ERIC: "That's why I've been setting myself up for failure."
The next meridian is the chin point. This is located in the crease of your chin below your lower lip and just above your chin. While tapping repeat the problem "I'm afraid to succeed."
ERIC: "I'm afraid to stand out and be successful."
Then tap on the collarbone point, one of the bones below your collarbone. Say, "I'm afraid to shine and I know why."
ERIC: "I'm afraid to succeed and I know why."
Tap under your arm approximately four inches below your armpit and say "I don't feel safe standing out and being a success."
ERIC: "I don't feel safe being successful."
The last tap point is on top of your head. This is a vital acupressure point. Say "I don't feel safe standing out..."
ERIC: "I don't feel safe standing out..."
CAROL: "...and that's okay..."
ERIC: "...and that's okay..."
CAROL: "...because I'm changing my vibrations."
ERIC: "...cause I'm moving my energy.
Then you take a deep breath, say the statement once more, and measure it again. If you feel different when you say the statement than you did when you first measured, your vibration has changed. Your goal is to get the number as low as possible, which indicates the limiting belief has less power in your life.
