If you've seen "The Secret", or watched any of the numerous law of attraction products out there, then you know how the basic principle works. Visualize something you desire for, as if that desire has been manifested and already in your reality. Feel to the best of your ability the satisfaction associated with having that outcome in your life. The next step is to work up a feeling of gratitude for having attracted your wishes. Do this a couple minutes a day, and presto, your wishes are handed on a silver platter, courtesy of the universe.
When you first learned about the law of attraction, you may have gotten excited. This could be the answer to all your problems. You may have tried it out. Some visualizations here and there for several minutes, and some affirmations. Of course nothing happens, and after the second or third week, you decide the law of attraction is just a gimmick and fad. At best, it is nothing more than an overly hyped version of positive thinking.
The law of attraction is a tricky concept, because it can't be put under a microscope, tested in a laboratory, or be validated under any scientific means. All we have are theories, and subjective opinions. Here's what I believe what the law of attraction is all about.
I do believe that there is something real behind the law of attraction. However, I believe the reason it has such a high staggering fail rate among users is because they put in mediocre efforts. Some short visualizations and repeating affirmations mindlessly like a parrot is not going to manifest that dream job, or land you that promotion.
For your desires to be manifest before you, you got to feel with every bone in your body how it would feel to achieve the outcome you seek. You have to rehearse this feeling over and over until it's ingrained in your subconscious. As long as any traces of doubt remains, you may as well throw in the towel.
I urge you to give the law of attraction another shot. Our minds are full of random thoughts if you let it run on autopilot. Most of these thoughts are unproductive. Set your mind on manual and replace those useless thoughts with ones that will have the law of attraction working for you.
