Has The Law Of Attraction Run Its Course?

By Melanie Mitchell

The law of Attraction is a law of the people; it speaks of the instinctive capacity of human beings to draw those things that they really want, to themselves. The foremost thoughts and ideas of our mind often find a way to show themselves in our lives, whether we realize it or not. Often when we think too much about something, we end up acquiring it, and we are surprised by it. But it is simply the law of attraction in action. But there is a hitch. By thinking too much about unconstructive things, we end up drawing these things to ourselves also.

The law of attraction does not have a definite methodical, scientific proof which can be worked out by scientists. And because of this reason, the law's legitimacy has been questioned. However, this is hardly a valid point. This particular law depends upon the human consciousness, to which the general scientific rules do not apply. Thus this is not a convincing short-coming of the law.

The law of attraction is not really a concept that is brand new. It was there even a thousand years back. It is applicable, not only for things or objects, but even for the people in our lives. Our mind and attitudes automatically draw those people into our lives that are "like-minded" or share similar thoughts, beliefs and ideas.

It has been observed that human beings make friends with those that have similar mindsets, and they dislike people whose mindsets differ greatly from theirs. All the answers can be found if we study about the law of attraction. If somebody ever wonders why a happy person is surrounded by other happy people, and a whining, discontented soul by other unhappy people, then he or she should read about the law of attraction.

The Law of Attraction, as a concept, is not one of its kind. But it can act as a beacon of hope for anyone who genuinely wants to change some things in his or her life. For the law to work correctly we need to believe in it, in ourselves, and the best in us. It will not work for the skeptic, the disbelieving, or the extremely negative souls.

Other than understanding how the law of attraction works, we need to be focused and very clear about what we want. And we also need to be passionate about what we want from life. We can change a lot of things in our lives simply by trying to change our regular thoughts.

Some people may say that once we know how the law of attraction works, anybody will be able to make as much money as they want. But that is really not the case. Simply wanting something will not do. The key is the emotion behind the want. What we want should make us feel happy and genuine. If we want something simply because our neighbor has it, and we don't really need it, then chances are that the law of attraction won't work. Thus we need to be extremely clear about what we want.

At first we have to ensure that we really have the need for the thing we want. We need to know very well that by having that particular thing, our lives will change for the better. Apart from all this, we also have to put away all sorts of inconsistent feelings that may crop up in our minds. These feelings will not help us in any way; instead they will have a dampening effect on our efforts. We have to recognize these thoughts and curtail them. The same rule holds for negative thoughts and feelings. These thoughts get in the way of the correct working of the law of attraction.

Individuals will have to trust themselves; they must not be encumbered by a lack of trust. Not only is trusting the law of attraction important, but we also have to have faith in our own beliefs. Unless we believe in ourselves, we will not be able to believe anybody else; let alone the law. Our ideals and thinking have a large impact on the way we behave; our everyday activities. And these activities will control who or what we draw towards us. Wrong thinking will attract the wrong kind of people. Therefore, to get the best and the desired results, we have to be very careful about our actions and thoughts. We must always be positive.
