Attraction Marketing...New Trend or Age Old Concept Revisited?

By Karen Hutton

"Success Is Not To Be Pursued, It Is To Be Attracted To You By The Person You Become" Jim Rohn

The facts speak for themselves and yet, many find themselves asking " Is Attraction Marketing a new trend or can it really be an age old concept experiencing a welcome revival?"Attraction Marketing has been in existence ever since people realised that they could influence others. Admittedly, some people are much better at attracting other people since they have developed leadership skills or have mastered the art of connecting with others. Certainly, some people are born with a natural talent for attracting and influencing others whilst others have to be patient and learn these qualities over a period of time.

The Law of Attraction, the subject of many writings, is practiced intuitively by many people who are completely oblivious that they do so. Many of these same people remain unaware of its existence throughout their entire lives and, as such, never realize their full potential. So what is the Law of Attraction, and how might we use it to benefit our lives?

It is, quite simply, one of the most powerful laws of the universe. Just as with gravity, it is present though unseen and untouchable, whether you like it or not. Also, as previously stated, it has been written about much over the years. James Allen's "As A Man Thinketh" written over a hundred years ago, explores this thinking in depth, lending some validity to the Law's existence. This small tome, which can be read in around an hour, is said to have sparked the creation of the entire self improvement industry as we know it today. While it can be read quickly, its philosophies should be explored over an entire lifetime. It is one of my favorite books, a must-read recommendation for all new clients, and can be downloaded for free at my website( details below)

Earl Nightingale, widely regarded as the Father of Modern Day Personal Development, claimed that the ideas in this book were "The Strangest Secret". The Secret, being, quite remarkably, that "we become what we think about"

The Universe in which we exist is one of intelligence and vibrancy. It reacts to our intentions, emotions, thoughts,,visions and beliefs. What we imagine and believe in WILL materialise in our lives and gives us the Power to influence others.

The notion that the "hard sell" no longer yields is finally becoming accepted by modern marketers, who are finally beginning to put people before products in a desire to achieve results. These same marketers are using principles of Attraction Marketing, achieving goals both financial and personal.

Unlike previously employed techniques, Attraction Marketing takes time to build long-lasting relationships with customers, giving them exceptional value in exchange for repeat business.

As per the original question, Attraction Marketing certainly isn't the new, latest trend that many would have us think. Rather, it is the welcome revival of an age old practice which I, myself, have used throughout my 25-year career in retail pharmacy. By putting people before products, I serve to increase my own abundance, a principle I continue to practice and encourage both as a marketer and a mentor to others.
