You And Your Relationship With The World

By Paul Smith

I personally do not advise people to become obsessed about the news but I also will not recommend that they avoid watching it.

The best way to handle the negative emotions elicited while watching the news is to let go of the feelings that are brought up from watching it. This also means that you need to release all of your unnecessary expectations that the world is getting worse. Also, allow yourself to picture out the world that you envision of living while, at the same time, accept the world as it is. The truth is that the more you accept the world, the more you will be able to manifest your positivity.

You can certainly let go of your feelings while, at the same time, still remained informed about what is happening around you. Moreover, by releasing only positive thoughts, you are doing more good to the world even with or without taking any direct actions.

Go For the Solution

It is natural for us to have the best intention to our society but there are a lot of things that deviates us from being positive thus we tend to become 'anti' to just about anything we don't like in our society. However, the problem with being too antagonistic is that we hold in our minds the very thing that we do not like in the first place. For example the anti-war in the US against the war in Vietnam has caused a rift between the government and the people. People end up rallying in the streets but did this stop the conflict? No. If we become too antagonistic, we actually send out more negative emotions thus aggravating the whole situation more.

To be able to solve the problem, you need to reframe your concern. For example if you concern is all about gender equality, then do not go out to the streets and have a protest. Instead, practice equality within you and infect other people with that idea. The thing here is that you need to hold in your mind the solution is always opposite to the problem. By thinking this way, you get more things done with less effort.

Show Your Support

When we do not like something in our society, we tend to complain to our leaders. In fact, our leaders absorb all of our dislikes. However, in a society that has a lot of people, out leaders can only represent a little portion of the population thus it is important that we choose a leader whom we think is worthy. Moreover, it is also important that we show our support to the leader even if we have different political views.
